Tuesday 6th May 2008 - League Game
Amaranth Colts 6 - New Farnley 2
What can I say? you lads were awsome tonight, I said in the match report for last Sunday when we played New Farnley - "Lets learn from today and raise our game for the last match of the season on Tuesday night when we play them again". - Well you certainly did that tonight and can honestly say I could not ask for any more from you. At times the football was brilliant, going forward you created chance after chance, and at the back you were very strong. The midfield dominated and Colm controlled his penalty box.
Danny Longley has found his touch these last few games and opened the scoring after 5 mins, then Dave looped a shot that the keeper could only touch behind the goal line. It was good to see Danny Wilson get on the goal table with a third for the Ammers. then Callum added to his tally before Farnley got a goal at the end of the half. Well taken goals from Jake and Olly Murtagh wrapped up the game even though Farnley did score a consolation second.
I was really pleased that everyone turned up tonight (as you have done most of the season) and thanks to Captain Olly who recovered in time to make it.
Last season we finished second from bottom in the league, this season we challenged for the top spot for the first half of the year and only missed out on the runners up place on goal difference, so however you look at it, this has been a very good campaign for us.
Man of the Match - There was only one candidate for MoM tonight and that was the whole team who played and finished as a team
MoM - Amaranth Colts U16's Team
